The man who shot 12 police officers, killing five, at a Black Lives Matter protest in downtown Dallas on Thursday night has been named as Micah Xavier Johnson, a 25-year-old Army reservist with no criminal history or ties to terror groups. Chinese couple, Wei Qishou and Wei Basao aged 102 and 103 respectively have actually been together since they were quite little. Wei went to live with her husband's family when she was orphaned aged six and he was just five and the couple have been together ever since. Basao remembers her wedding to Wei Qishou when they were teenagers. She said: 'In the evening, we had dinner with all the family elders and we were married.' Pictures circulating on Chinese media show the happy couple taking a stroll, holding hands and cooking a meal. Wei said her husband's family treated her well despite their poverty. Nigerian oil workers are going ahead with their planned strike today( Thursday), despite reports that the government had commenced talks with their leaders, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has said. The acting general secretary of PENGASSAN, Lumumba Okugbawa, told PREMIUM TIMES on Thursday morning that they were not aware of any negotiations between any arm of the association and the government on any of their demands. “It is not true there are on-going negotiations between PENGASSAN and government. Apart from the inconclusive negotiation on June 23, which was rescheduled to June 30, only to be put off indefinitely with no further appointment, we are not aware of any other negotiation with government,” Mr. Okugbawa said. The Dallas police department just tweeted the picture of one of the suspects of yesterday nights shooting and killing of three cops.

Multiple police officers have been killed during a protest in Dallas over shootings by police of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota. Three Dallas police officers were killed and seven others were wounded, Dallas Police Chief David Brown said in a statement. One Dallas Area Rapid Transit officer was fatally shot, the agency tweeted. It's not clear if Brown included the DART officers in his tally. Brown said two snipers shot the 10 from elevated positions during a protest. Two officers are in surgery and three are in critical condition. No suspects were in custody. Three other DART officers were also shot. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening, DART said. The shooting happened as protests were underway about two blocks from Dealey Plaza. The good news for soccer star Lionel Messi is that he won't be going to jail for defrauding the Spanish tax authorities. The bad news is that he's been fined $2.3 million. A Barcelona court ruled that between 2007 and 2009, Messi was guilty of tax fraud and that for each of those three years he should serve a sentence of seven months. However, because this was the first time the Barcelona forward had committed an offense and his sentence was less than two years, the 29-year-old Messi won't serve jail time as long as he doesn't break the law again. The Deputy High Commissioner of Sierra Leone in Nigeria, Maj. Gen. Alfred Nelson William, who was kidnapped along Abuja- Kaduna last Friday, has regained his freedom. A mother, 29 year old, Shanynthia "Yari" Gardner, who was charged in the stabbing deaths of four of her children made her first court appearance Tuesday, four days after the children were found dead in a Tennessee apartment. Gardner allegedly stabbed 4 of her 5 children. 6-month-old Yahzi, was dead in a baby carrier in the living room, with her sister, 3-year-old Sya, next to her.   The Police Service Commission approved the retirement of controversial Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Mbu Joseph Mbu and 20 other AIGs. Mbu, a onetime commissioner for Police in Rivers state during the last administration, was always at loggerheads with the immediate past governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi.  A statement by the Commission’s spokesman Ikechukwu Ani ,said the affected AIGs are Bala A.   At least six people, including children , were killed in an attack on buses in the county of Mandera in northern Kenya. The gunmen opened fire on the first bus, which failed to stop, and then on the second one which resulted in the casualties. "Police on the scene have found six persons shot dead," said police chief Joseph Boinnet. "The hunt for the terrorists is under way." Boinnet said two people were also injured. It was unclear whether the casualties were civilians or police officer guards aboard the buses. The early morning ambush happened near El Wak in Mandera county, an impoverished rural part of the country where similar deadly attacks in the past have been claimed by the Somali-led Al-Qaeda group, the Shabaab. A similar raid in December 2015 left two people dead, after Muslim passengers shielded their Christian fellows. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

  Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), has shut down 70 churches and 20 mosques in the state over noise pollution. Bola Shani, the general manager of the agency made this known in an interview with newsmen in Lagos today June 29th. “Precisely about 70 churches, 20 mosques and about 11 hotels, club houses and beer parlours were shut and we’ve given them some directives to follow. We’ve been so strict now that we are not going to even allow make-shift churches in the state any longer. A 13 year old JSS1 student who lives with his parents at Iju Ishaga Area of Lagos was arrested for allegedly defiling his neighbour's 6 year old daughter and was arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. The prosecutor, Sgt. Rafael Donny told the court that the crime took place on June 6 at his parent’s house when no one was at home. Donny said the suspect tricked the 6 year old child into his room and defiled her. He said the crime contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The accused, whose name was not released due to his age, pleaded not guilty. The Chief Magistrate handling the case, Tajudeen Elias, granted the suspect a N250, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned till July 20. Source - "LindaIkeji"

  A 24 year old Missouri man has been charged with 4 counts of homicide after killing his grand dad and mum, sister and 3 month old baby nephew by shooting them on the head and setting them on fire . Grayden Denham of Edgerton in Platte County is accused of murdering his grandparents Russell Denham, 82, and Shirley Denham, 81, his sister Heather Ager, 32, her son, Mason Schiavoni, 3 months and a dog in a terrifying homicide case in February. All the bodies were burning when firefighters arrived and had to put out the flames on each body, Platte County Sheriff Mark Owen said at a press conference on Monday. "Upon further examination of the scene, the following details were revealed: Every victim had sustained one or more gunshot wounds.
