Portugal makes it to the Euro Semi-final by beating Poland on penalties

Portugal becomes the first team to make it to the UEFA EURO 2016 Semi-final. The qualified by beating Poland after playing 1-1 till the end of extra time moving on to play penalties. Portugal wins after Quaresma does another magic by scoring the winning penalty. Portugal winning 5-3 on penalties  High quality game played by both teams but Poland are out and Portugal through to the Semifinals

70 Churches, 20 Mosques, 11 Hotels shut down in Lagos state over noise pollution

  Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), has shut down 70 churches and 20 mosques in the state over noise pollution. Bola Shani, the general manager of the agency made this known in an interview with newsmen in Lagos today June 29th. “Precisely about 70 churches, 20 mosques and about 11 hotels, club houses and beer parlours were shut and we’ve given them some directives to follow. We’ve been so strict now that we are not going to even allow make-shift churches in the state any longer. What I mean by make-shift, using tents and uncompleted building, we are not going to allow that any further in the state.  But I will strongly tell you that the level of compliance is more on the mosque area, because immediately you shut them, they instantly bring down their speakers or reduce the noise they make.’’ Shabi says the plan of the state government is to reduce noise pollution in the state to about zero per cent by the year 2020. “As at today, we are only able to reduce ...

SAD: Former minster of foreign affairs, Ojo Maduekwe is dead

  Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and one time Minister of Transportation, Ojo Maduekwe, has died. He died today June 29th. He was aged 71. He was appointed Foreign Minister of Nigeria on July 26, 2007 by President Umaru Yar’Adua and was made Minister of Transport by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2001. May his soul rest in peace Amen.

  Founder and C.E.O of Virgin Group Richard Branson has revealed that the economic effects of Britain's exit from the EU has resulted in Virgin Group cancelling a deal worth 3,000 jobs. The billionaire businessman said the company had made the decision to pull the plug on "a very big deal" because of the the uncertainty created by last week's vote to quit the EU, saying his company may have lost up to a third of its value.
